£14,400 Grant For Picton
The Health Department has approved a subsidy of £14,400 for the erection of a new wing to Wesley House, the home for aged, at Picton. The superintendent of pie Christchurch Central Mission i the Rev. W. E. Falkingham) said that is was proposed to erect a new 16 single-bed-room block. There would also be major reconstruction work to the existing home such as the enlarging of the lounge, the conversion of shared bedrooms to single and double rooms and improvements to kitchens. The home has been catering for aged men and women in the Marlborough district for 10 years. There are 14 residents at present, but when the new work is completed, a further six will be
