£32,000 For Raphael
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON. March 11. A London art dealer today paid a world record £32,000 for a small drawing, by Raphael, showing the Virgin Mary with infant Jesus blessing John the Baptist. The drawing was sold at Sotheby’s in an auction which realised £425,875. The sales included works by the 18th century French painter, Francois Boucher, and the Dutch master, Jan Brueghel, the elder.
