FESTIVAL EVENTS
Several sporting events will be held during the nineday Marlborough Festival next month. The main purpose of the festival is to provide an ambulance for the St John Ambulance Association. The chief fixtures will be a triangular softball tournament, an invitation trophy meeting to be conducted by the Marlborough Amateur Athletics and Cycling Club, and the Hawke Cup elimination match between Marlborough and the new North Canterbury team. Other events will Include aerobatic competitions, swimming and water polo, gymnastics, tennis and bridge.
