10-Acre Property At Harewood An orchard of 10 acres with a frontage of six chains at 322 Sawyers Arms road, Harewood, was sold for £B5OO at public auction yesterday. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. The initial bid was £7OOO. There were six bids of £250.
Buildings on the property include a house of three bedrooms, two livingrooms, and a kitchenette, a 100 ft by 30ft glasshouse, and packing sheds. Seven hundred apple trees are in the orchard. The Government valuation is £7400. The rates are £39 9s 3d. Offered on account of Mrs Annie Trotman, a house at 76 Linwood avenue, Linwood, was passed in at £l9OO. The auctioneer was Mr J. Dyer. The house has an enclosed veranda, livingroom, sittingroom, two bedrooms, kitchen, pantry, bathroom, and washhouse. There is also a garge on the section of 19 perches, which is zoned residential B.
Police in Port of Spain, Trinidad, are prosecuting night club dancers who perform clad only in G-strings.
