TOUR SQUAD “PROMISING”
Showing More Cohesion (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Feb. 16. The New Zealand soccer team to make a world tour next month shows "considerable promise.’’ according to the official coach, the former English international, K. A. Armstrong. After a week-end training session Mr Armstrong said today that the players were showing more cohesion and method than when they met th* touring Basle side last month. Th* 18-strong touring squad will be assembled in Wellington for another two days' intensive training and coaching on February 29. Yesterday, a team chosen from the squad defeated a Peton* invitation XI, 7-0, and today the party’s possible "A" string beat the balance of th* squad, supported by guest players, 2-0. Mr Armstrong, asked how th* team would fare against oversees opposition, said the New Zealanders would be fit and were developing a measure of combination that could win them some success, even in Europe and the Uinted Kingdom.
A collection of 4600 Braille volumes, forgotten for 30 years, was discovered in the dome of Chicago'* old post office before the building was demolished.
