Second Leg At Westport (NX. Press, Association) WESTPORT, February 16. Following the naming <K the J. J. Coney Hack Handicap at Westport on Saturday, E. G. Low. rider at Matador, which had been placed fourth, lodged ah objection to Gold Shower being placed third. After considering the evidence, the judicial committee upheld the objection and placed Matador third and relegated - Gold Shower to fourth.
During the running of the same race. Rajah, a seven-year-old gelding owned by Mm M. Conza. or Reefton, collapsed and died. Stewards Have Busy Day (NX. Press Association) HAMILTON, Feb. 1«, Stewards of the Waijtato Racing Club had a busy day at their Royal meeting on Saturday and the final judicial report was not completed until more than an hour after the 'last race. ■ Two jockeys were fined and two trainers were instructed to start their horses next without blinkers. L. Tournier, the rider of Black Tudor, was fined £2O for causing interference to Patanga (N. B. Holland) in the Commonwealth Stakes and J. P. Riordan, the rider of Elkayel in the Empire Intermediate Handicap, was fined £lO for causing interference to Lucy Gray ,(W. D. Skelton).
