Government Grant Increased (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. The annual Government grant to -the New Zealand Council for Educational Research will be £16,500 for the financial year 1964-65, the Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella), said today. An increase of £5500 on the 1963-64 grant, this was the Government’s contribution to the council’s longterm development plans, he said.
“The council has given outstanding service over the years in its research into education and in making available to teachers and the community the knowledge so gained, through more than 50 major publications,” Mr Kinsella Said. Increase In the council’s staff and additional services being embarked upon would enable increasing demands for research to be more easily met. The increased grant would assist this expansion.
