REMARKS ON BEACHES
Reference Was To Scotland (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 14. Government House today said Lady Fergusson’s remarks on New Zealand beaches were misreported by the Press Association. Lady Fergusson had in fact said she hoped New Zealand picnic spots would never become like some of those in Scotland, notably around Loch Lomond; which were so dirty that she would never stop there. Government House said Lady Fergusson would be most distressed if her words, as reported, were taken to
express disapproval of all the work that had gone into providing safe sites.
