TOUR BY FRANCE

tFro.n T. P. McLEAN, Sports Editor of the “New Zealand Herald") CARDIFF, February 16. If New Zealand cares to offer an invitation, the French Rugby Federation would be happy to send its international team to New Zealand for a tour of 10 matches, including very likely two tests, in die season of 1968. This was made clear to the manager of the All Blacks, Mr F. D. Kilby, during discussions he held with officials of the French Rugby Federation last week. In the absence of any directive from the New Zealand Rugby Council, Mr Kilby could do little more than explore the possibility of a visit from the tricolour as a repayment for the four matches played by the All Blacks in France.

He was disappointed at the first reaction, which was that a programme of only five matches should be put forward by the New Zealand council But other federation officers, with more knowledge of world conditions, quickly scouted this suggestion of their president and accepted that a programme of 10 matches was feasible.
