PADRES FOR DEEP COVE
Churchmen To Take Turns (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) INVERCARGILL, Feb. 14. Southland' ministers' and priests will fly into Deep Cove Once a fortnight to hold church services on theWanganella, the hostel ship for men employed on the Mknapouri hydro-electric project. This week-end, Father T. G. Keyes, of St. Mary’s Basilica parish, will be flown into the cove on the Mallard amphibian of Utah, Williamson, Burnett. He will celebrate Mass on board the Wanganella and be available for interviews with the men. The visits were initiated a fortnight ago by the chairman of the Southland branch of the ’National Council of Churches (the Rev. J. S. Olds). . He said today that each minister would spend the week-end at Deep Cove, acting the capacity of a padre, rather than in denominational interest.
