FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT

Situation.—Anti-cyclones are centred north-east of the Chatham and over the central Tasman Sea. A depression lies far to the south of the country. The associated weak cold front is moving east over the south of the South Island. Forecast: Canterbury.—Northerlies, mainly moderate but fresh at times on the coast; fine and warm, apart from, cloudy areas at night and in the early morning. Outlook: similar conditions. Nelson and Marlborough.—Light to moderate norther lies; fine and warm, apart from some areas of coastal low cloud night and morning and isolated afternoon showers on the ranges. Outlook: similar conditions. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate westerlies; partly cloudy and mild, with a few showers in the afternoon. Outlook: similar conditions.
