COMMERCIAL VEHICLE NEWS
A new range of chassis for single-deck 36ft buses, with the engine under the floor behind the rear axle, has been announced by Leyland. Named the Panther range, the vehicles are designed to be particularly quiet. The rear engine position' is claimed to improve steering, braking, tyre wear, and suspension. Air suspension is available as an optional extra and all models have a semi-automatic gearbox with two pedal control. A twospeed axle is optional. Wheelbase is 18ft 6in.
