SOLID TYRES
A tyre company in the United States is making more than 60 sizes of solid-rubber tyre. The tyres are intended for use in conditions normally too severe for normal pneumatic tyres, and are made of a new natural rubber mixture interlaced with nylon fibres for strength and tear resistance.
The solid tyres fit normal rims, • but eliminate the dangers of punctures. They are claimed to be much more resilient than previous solid tyres, and their extra weight is said to give better traction.
