Pit Stops
Ferrari will race cars powered by V 6, V 8 and flat 12 engines during the coming season, The drivers
will be John Surtees, as number one, and Lorenzo Bandini, who appeared in New Zealand a few years ago. * ¥ ¥ Sydney Allard, the British rally driver and garage owner, is to produce the first all-British dragster for public sale. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre engine,, and will cost about £5OO .in kit form. Dragster racing is rapidly becoming popular in Britain after demonstrations recently by several machines from the United States.
A team of Lotus-Ford sports, racing and G.T. cars will be run in. Europe and the United States this year by the lan WalkerTeam Lotus racing team. The team has been selected by Lotus to run the two new 200 m.p.h. Lotus 30 sports racers, which are powered by Ford V 8 engines. The Lotus 30’s will be driven by Jim Clark and D. Gurney. A third car is being built to use the Lotus-Cortina 1600 c.c. engine. A competition version of the Lotus Elan will also be raced.
