Gibson's Withdrawal From Barbarians In Dispute
The brilliant Cambridge University fly-half, C. M. H. Gibson, has withdrawn from the Barbarians’ team to play the All Blacks at Cardiff on Saturday. He has done so at the request of the Irish selectors who do not want him to risk possible injury before the international match between Ireland and Scotland the following week. A. R. Veysey, the N.Z.P.A. special correspondent with the All Blacks, and J. L. Manning, the “Daily Mail’s” outspoken and controversial sports writer, commenting on Gibson’s withdrawal, disagree over its wisdom.
