BONUS ISSUE BY BONDS
One-For-Five Proposed (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 13. The directors of Bonds Hosiery Mills (N.Z.), Ltd., propose to make a one-for-flve bonus share isue from pre-1957 profits. They also recommend payment of a final dividend of 6d, plus a bonus dividend of IJd a stock unit, making a total distribution of 10£d a stock unit for the year. This is equivalent to 17 J per cent, including 2| per cent bonus. Last year’s distribution was 15 per cent, including 3 1-3 per cent bonus. Group Profit The directors say that subject to completion of audit, group profit for the year to January 19 was about f 150,000. Group profit for the previous year was £111,874. This represented earning of Bonds Hosiery Mills (N.Z.), Ltd., for 12 months and two subsidiaries for nine and a half months only. It was reached after deduction of £8448 earned by the subsidiaries before acquisition. Paid capital of the company .at January 19, 1953, 'was £422.319, and reserves were £298.596. Subject to shareholders’ approval, shares will be ex bonus issue on April 16, and ex dividend on April 4. Zealandia Milling.— Zealandia Milling directors recommend a dividend of 8 per cent plus a bonus of 2 per cent, payable April 8, ex dividend the same day. Last year’s dividend was 8 per cent.—(PJt.) Final.—The directors of Baillie Motors, Ltd., Hastings, have recommended a final dividend of 5 per cent, making a steady 10 per cent for the year; ex dividend March 2—(P.A.)
