EVACUATED BY FRIGATE
Injured Man On Raoul (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 13. The frigate Rotoiti reached the half-way mark of a 1160mile ambulance trip today when she embarked an injured man from the weather station on Raoul Island. The patient was brought down the cliff by aerial ropeway in a stretcher provided by the ship and then lowered by crane into the Rotoiti’s motor-boat which was riding a 6ft swell off Fisherman’s Rock. The Rotoiti will arrive at Auckland on Friday night when the patient will be transferred to Auckland Hospital.
