February 14. 1964, are invited for the position of:— (a) Full-time Surgeon. Hawera Hospital, or alternatively (b) Visiting Surgeon, Hawera Hospital, on the basis of up to 21 hours per week. In the first instance a fulltime Surgeon would be preferred. and he would be given the option of changing to parttime after a period, with the right of private practice. Hawera Hospital is a wellequipped general hospital of 96 established beds, and it serves a predominately dairy farming community, with a Hospital District population of approximately 22.000. Salary will be in accordance with the Hospital Employment (Medical Officers) Regulations 1963, and the commencing rate will be determined by tlie Medical Officers Grading Committee—according to the qualifications. experience, ability and status of the appointee—within the following scales:— Senior Specialist (b)—£2Boo to £3lOO. While the position is a nonresidential one, a six-roomed unfurnished flat owned by the Board may be available at a rental of £llO per annum.
