Athletics The Ashburton Amateur Athletic Club holds a splendid meeting each year which attracts athletes from many other centres. Saiturday’s meeting was no exception. However, it is unfortunate that the referee ruled the senior men's and women’s 100 yards as wind assisted while allowing two minor events as records. There can be no doubt that if an anemometer had been used the Canterbury record for the men's 100 yards would now be 9.8 seconds. OBSERVER.
