U.S. Canada Project

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) OTTAWA, January 13. Canada will design and build four space satellites before 1970 under an agreement with the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The associate Defence Minister, Mr Lucien Cardin, said the satellites, to be launched from Vandenburg air base in California, would “continue and substantially expand” the work of Canada’s first satellite, the Alouette, which was launched in September 1962. The Alouette is still providing data on the upper atmosphere.
