School Entertains Visiting Pupils
Pupils from two other schools were the guests art a social evening held by the Kaikoura District High School secondary department recently. The guests included pupils from Takaka. who were members of a school party visiting Kaikoura during the course of tour, which included visits to several centres in North Canterbury. The other party consisted of 30 sixth formers from the Cashmere High School, who were staying in Kaikoura for a few days to make use of the facilities made available by the Marine Research Station for a field study in marine biology.
Under the leadership of Mr K. Connell and Mrs Connell, the Takaka party stopped at Kaikoura as the first leg of a 12-day practical geography tour. From Kaikoura the party visited Kaiapoi and Christchurch, where they were billeted by pupils of the Ananui High School. Their tour took them on to Oxford, Hawarden and Murchison. before returning to Takaka.
