Freight Rate Increase
(NZ.P.A-R<ut»r—Cepvripht) SINGAPORE, Dec. 18. The Strasts-New Zealand Direct Ccftference today announced a general increase in shipping freight rates ot approximately 7J per cent from February 1, 1964 The increase* will apply to all commodities carried by member lines to New Zealand ports. The conference announcement blamed "substßoUal in over-all operating c<r:* as the cause of the heavier charges. The last general increaae m conference freight rates was in September. 1962.
