Standing Up To Seas
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, December 5. The 200 - ton Wellington trawler Hautapu “is just as she went up,” according to the salvage company’s engineer, Mr P. Askin, today. The vessel stranded on a beach north of Chancet Rocks. on Marlborough’s east coat, on November 3. No decision on the future of the ship has yet been made by its underwriters, Lloyds of London.
The ship has weathered “some mighty big seas,” said Mr Askin, but she had not shifted nor had sand built up around her.
When word came it was intended to pull the Hautapu off with two bulldozers.
