WEEK OF PRAYER
Observance Begins A week of prayer and world fellowship which is being observed by the Christchurch Young Women’s Christian Association, began on Monday. Special functions will be held, and members have been given a booklet with a daily Bible reading plan and prayers for the week, entitled "Behold the Man.” This is the 96th year that the world Y.W.C.A. has held a week of prayer. The official week observed by most centres was from November 10-16, but Show Week in Christchurch necessitated tile date here being put back. Today a world fellowship luncheon will be held, at which Miss A. Kirkwood (general secretary of the Dunedin Y.W.C.A.), who has been to the world Y.W.CA. conference in Denmark, will be the speaker. On Sunday, November 24, the Y.W.CA. and the Y.M.C.A. will hold a combined tea, when the guest speaker will be Miss E. Higgs (national general secretary).
A combined church service will be held in the Cathetral, when the Very Rev. W. A. Pyatt. Dean of Christchurch, will be the preacher.
