CENTENNIAL SHOW
North Otago's Progress (N.Z. Press AMoei-itfon) DUNEDIN. November 20. A cavalcade of progress depicting 100 years of progress in North Otago—was the feature of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association's centennial show, at Oamaru today. Before a record breaking crowd of thousands, bullock waggon, horse-drawn waggon and farm implements, vintage cars and bicycles, cars old and new, formed an entourage stretching back a century. Bullock drivers, shearers, boundary riders, and World War I soldiers, were dressed in the style of their day. Women accompanied them on the waggons and gigs, on horseback and in the vintage cars, also dressed in period costume. The exhibits and animals in the procession came from all parts of the country—bullocks from Banks Peninsula, draught horses from Southland, waggons from Mid-Canterbury, and men from North Otago. Riding in a 1923 model T Ford truck, Mr C. J. Cowan made a more unusual return to a show that he has attended on 68 successive occasions. Mr Cowan is a former president of the association.
Malaysia.— Prospects for renewal of relations between the Philippines and Malaysia were "very good." the Malaysian Premier, Tunku Abdul Rahman, said today Kuala Lumpur, November 20.
