BEGORRAH!
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. Six Fijian soldiers wbo passed through Whenuapai airport on Saturday spoke with an Irish brogue. They are members of the Royal Ulster Rifles and were passing through Auckland en route to Fiji for three weeks* leave. Two years ago they were the first soldiers recruited in Fiji by the British Army and after spending most of the time with Irish soldiers they have picked up the “twang.” They have recently been involved in a combined forces exercise in Australia and took the opportunity to take leave owing to them.
Asked how they liked the life, one replied: “To be sure, an’ It's not so bad.”
