Arrests In Burma
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) RANGOON. November 17. More than 420 Left-wing Burmese politicians, writers, labour leaders and journalists were reported to have been arrested during ’he last 48 hours, the British United Press reported. The arrests, carried out by police and Army intelligence officers, began on Friday night shortly after the revolutionary Government abruptly broke off peace talks w’ith the Communist Party of Burma.
