Missiles In Indonesia
(NZ.P.A.-ReuteT—Copyright) DJAKARTA, Nov. 14. Indonesia's Department of National Research is experimenting with surface-to-sur-face guided missiles as a first step to having them manufactured here, Antara news agency said today. Air Vice-Marshal Omar Dani said preparations leading to the manufacture of the missiles were in "tun swing" under Air Force supervision. The Indonesian Air Force is equipped with Soviet surface-to-air missiles, but has no surface-to-surface batteries. Dani said Indonesia was trying to perfect its armed forces “to safeguard the nation from any attack. "Indonesia will not hesitate to take retaliatory measures if its territory is violated by foreign forces," he said.
