Issue Late In January The new Christchurch telephone directory, which will be issued late in January, will weigh almost 21b, half a pound more than the present directory. The Post Office will distribute 100,000 volumes listing 56,000 subscribers. Mr J. W. Lincoln, the Deputy Chief Postmaster, said yesterday that the printing of the directories had begun, and the late-additions list would close in about a week. The January directory will be a temporary issue, as new books listing the proposed six-figure telephone numbers w’ill be completed and ready for use by August. Subscribers all over Christchurch are already receiving advice of their altered numbers for late 1964.
