CAR ROLLS OVER
Police Seek Driver
A police dog was being used early this morning in an attempt to track the driver of a car which crashed through a hedge and rolled on to its roof in Millbrook reserve about 11.30 p.m. yesterday. The car, seven years old. was severely damaged. No car answering its description had been reported to the police as having been converted. Early this morning, the police traced its owner through the registration plates. Persons in the neighbourhood, attracted by the scream of tyres and sound of the crash, saw two young men walking along Carlton Mill road after the accident, but at the time did not connect them with the crash. They were seen to go over a footbridge leading to Little Hagley Park, Harper avenue and Hagley Park. Uniform and C. 1.8. patrol cars went to the scene, and a police dog followed a scent for about half an hour. There was no blood in the car, which was taken to the Central Police Station by a breakdown truck.
