A-TEST OPPONENTS HELD BY FRENCH

Some members of the Tahitian Elected Assembly are under virtual house arrest in Tahiti, French officials said in Paris tonight France is having trouble with Tahitians over plans to test a hydrogen bomb in the area. The action followed the circulation of petitions in Tahiti protesting against “invasion” by French troops preparing the way for tests at'Mururoa atoll.
