S. VIETNAM CAMPAIGN
Bigger Effort Since Coup (.Vt. Press Am—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 12. South Vietnam has increased its campaign again** the Communist Viet Cong guerrillas since the successful coup, "The Times’’ said today. The newspaper’s Saigon correspondent said Viet Cong attacks were reported to be tailing off sharply from Last weeks h<h point. The Viat-Cong had doubled their a tacks in some areas after th e_ coup which overthrew the- Diem regime. According to American military sources, the chief reason for the rapid petering out of this offensive was the sudden upsurge in aggressive spiart of the Government j troops, "The Times” corre-i spondent said. The correspondent said a' year ago the war had seemed ' to be going quite well. But; President Diems increasing suspicion of everybody• around him had weakened and frustrated the whole command structure.
