Chlorine Plant At Kinleith
(N.Z. Pres* Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. The first chlorine dioxide plant in New Zealand is now in opertaion at New Zealand Forest Products’ pulp and paper mills at Kinleith. The only one of its kind in Australia or New Zealand, the £lOO,OOO plant Is producing a ton of chlorine dioxide daily. It is used in the fivestage bleaching process for the making of whiter and stronger writing and printing papers. The gas is absorbed by water which, in turn, is mixed with the pulp in one of the bleaching stages.
