EXPORTS OF FOOD
Cold War Use Advocated (N.ZJ’.A.-Reuter —Copyright) BONN, November 11. The West should use food exports as a cold war weapon against Russia, the former West German Chancellor (Dr. Konrad Adenauer) said today. He urged that food exports be used in the same way that medieval leaders starved besieged castles into submission. the British United Press reported. The Soviet Leaders needed more food to deal with basic problems facing them. Dr Adenauer said. The Western Alliance must now decide if and how to use this opportunity to produce deeds rather than “mere woods” from Moscow. Dr. Adenauer was addressing 21 American millionaire businessmen, who last week conferred for three hours with Mr Khrushchev in Moscow. “A .solution of the Russian problem in peace is desirable. There can be no solution by war.” Dr. Adenauer said. “Now, for the first time, it seems possible to find a peaceful solution of the problem. All the foundations on which Mr Khrushchev rests his control are shaky ”
