BENDIGO CUP TO ALGALON
Summer Regent Third (N.Z. Press ASsn.—Copyright) BENDIGO (Victoria), Norteixvr 13. New Zeeland-bred horses filled the first three places in the Bendigo Cup at Bendigo today. The £2OOO cup. run over 11 tartongs and 45 yards, was won by Aigalon. with Franc second and the 5/2 favourite, Summer Regent, third. Algaion won by thnee lengths with a head between second and third. Die time was 2man 19 2-ssec. Aigalon won the New Zealand Derby test year and was bought by Mr Laurie Reid, of Melbourne, for a reported £5OOO. It was his first win in Australia Algaton is by Alonso, Franc by Le FUlou and Summer Regent by Summertime. Aigalon went to the front half a mile from home. He was challenged in the straight by Summer Regent, which was conceding hun 241 b. but draw away to win easily.
