FOWLS AND DUCKS

One hundred and ninetynine ducks, fowls, and bantams added to the general clamour in the poultry section. Mr B. Graham, judge of the heavy breeds and ducks, was pleased with the number of entries and their general quality. The best utility bird, a male Australorp, was an outstanding bird in excellent condition, he said. There was a pleasing display of ducks, with most of the common varieties exhibited. The best fancy bantam in the show was tlie Rose Hen, the judge of that section (Mr H. N. May) said. Most of the birds were in good condition, and they were all well up to the standard of big shows. Most of the birds were of a good standard, he said, but a white flaw in the lobe of the female birds was a common fault. Mr E. W. Pippins said that there were not as many entries in the class he was judging—the game poultry—as he would like, but there was quality, if not quantity.
