ROSE SHOW AWARDS
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. A red exhibition hybrid tea rose. “F. W. Alesworth,” won the champion bloom award tor K. H. Patterson, of Blenheim, at the national rose show and combined Wellington Rose Society show today. The bloom received the R. M. Porteous memorial silver vase. Winners of National Rose Society trophies were:— Exhibit of roses staged for effect: I. W. Stephens (Te Awamutu). Bertha Wilson trophy: Mrs K. Couper (Waipawa). Walker and Hall trophy: Mrs Couper. “Glenrossie” trophy: J. W. Simpson (Palmerston North). Rangitawa trophy: K. H. Patterson (Blenheim). Rangitikei trophy: W. D. Waldin (Waipawa). Frank Mason Cup: Miss D. R. Falkner (Palmerston North). Otago Rose Society's gophy: F J. Gorrie (Lower Utt). Hawke’s Bay trophy: W. B. Waldin (Waipawa). C. V. Holyoake trophy: N. Curd (New Plymouth). National Rose Society trophy: Mrs W. F Glennie (Marlborough). Nurserymen’s exhibit: Bell Roses (Paraparaumu). Australian and overseas visitors: D. W. Ruston (Adelaide). National Rose Society bronze medal: S. J. Samuels (Nelson).
