FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone is stationary' over the north Tasman Sea, with a ridge of high pressure extending on to New Zealand. A depression south of Tasmania is moving south-eastwards. Forecast:
Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating about the coast; scattered cloudy areas, otherwise fine and rather mild. Outlook: south-west change. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds; cloudy this morning, with a few patches of drizzle; partly cloudy and rather mild this afternoon. Outlook: rain. Nelson and Marlborough.—Light to moderate variable winds; isolated showers at first, partly cloudy and mild later. Outlook: scattered showers in western parts of Nelson, otherwise partly cloudy.
