LINESMAN’S CLAIM
Settlement Reached A claim for damages by Norman William Anderson, aged 49, a linesman, against the Rangiora Borough Council and the North Canterbury Electric Power Board was settled out of court yesterday. He had claimed £3314 damages. On Monday a jury heard evidence from the plaintiff regarding injuries to his right arm and hand sustained in a fall after receiving an electric shock. Evidence by the plaintiff’s witnesses continued yesterday morning, and a settlement was announced later. Mr H. W. Thompson appeared for Anderson, Mr K. A. Gougih for the borough council, and Mr R. P. Thompson for the power board. Mr Justice Wilson was on the bench.
