Rifle Shooting RECORD AND TROPHY
Commonwealth Tourney (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON. Nov. 12. Lord Bossom, vice-president of the National Small Bore Rifle Association, visited New Zealand House to present to the High Commissioner, Sir Thomas MacDonald, a silver trophy won by Wellington in the annual competition between teams from the United Kingdom and provinces and states in the Commonwealth. It is Wellington's third win since the Second World War. The trophy will be on display in New Zealand House. Wellington set a new record of 3974 points for this competition, four points better than the previous record. Canterbury was third with 3962 points, Hawke's Bay ninth with 3954, Auckland sixteenth with 3939 and Otago twentythird with 3931.
