Contraband In Freighter
(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, Nov. 12. Transistor radios and cases of whisky were found in the first 15 minutes of a search of the Golden Alpha, at present loading pine logs for Japan at Mount Maunganui. Mr R. H, Petiersson, of the Customs Department at Mount Maunganui, said the search pattern adopted today was to go through the ship from stern to bow. doubling back at times to make sure that contraband was not being transferred by the crew.
