Classrooms In U.K.
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, November 12. Spending on new schools in Britain will rise to £BO million a year in 1965-67—about a third more than now. The Education Minister (Sir Edward Boyle) said yesterday that by the end of a five-year period from 1960 the Government would have started over £3lO million worth of projects and programmed several millions more. The bigger primary and secondary school building projects were needed to accommodate the soaring school population—expected to rise by about 325,000 between January, 1967, and January, 1969, he said.
