School Fighting
There was a great deal less fighting among the boys at primary schools today, observed Mr F. R. Price, headmaster of the North New Brighton School for the last 17 years who is retiring at the end of the school year. “There are still some strictly unprofessional wrestling bouts occasionally, but I can recall only one stand-up. slogging match, with all the other boys watching and encouraging, over the last 10 years. This is a vastly different situation from my own school days at Brighton and early experience as a teacher,” Mr Price said. “It may be that the boys are leaving primary schools at a younger ge and that fighting takes place in the lower forms of secondary schools.”
