Westfold is at present the Head), and invites applications from scholars whose field is in Mathematical Statistics. The Department offers courses in Pure Mathematics (under Professor G. B. Preston) and Applied Mathematics f under Professor K C. Westfold). At present, units of Mathematical Statistics are taught within these courses and two senior lecturers have been appointed for this purpose, but the successful applicant for the Chair will have the opportunity of developing the subject at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as a separate discipline.
