The Canadian dollar continued to strengthen last week, and the Belgian franc, for the third successive week, also improved in relation to the £. Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates, as advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales are as follows: New Zealand on— New York: buying, 2.7932 dol. to £NZI (compared with 2.7934 dol. on November 4); selling, 2.7616 dol. (2.7618). Canada: 3.0097 dol. (3.0102): 2.9712 dol. (2.9717). Belgium: 140.000 francs (140.00); 136.90 francs (137.10). Austria: 72.63 schillings (72.62); 71.08 schillings (71.07). Denmark: 19.40 crowns (19.41); 18.99 crowns (19.00). Norway: 20.11 crowns (20.10): 19.68 crowns (same). Sweden: 14.59 crowns (same): 14.27 crowns (1428). Switzerland: 12.13 francs (same); 11.86 francs (11.87). Japan: 1019 yen (1018); 995 yen (same).
