Watt Will Stiffen N.Z. Back Line
[From T. P. McLEAN, Sports Editor of the "New Zealand Herald"] LONDON, November 11. The most interesting selection in the All Black team to play Cambridge University tomorrow is B. A. Watt for second five-eighths in preference to D. A. Arnold who appears recovered from the injury which caused his omission from the side which played London Counties on Saturday.
After the loss of P. T. Walsh by injury 10 days ago it looked as if the AU Blacks would suffer for the want of a skiUed substitute. As a club player of great experience in the position M. J. Dick looked an obvious choice, and, in fact, was considered for the match with London counties. Dick is such a good wing—the best in the team—that the tour committee was anxious to play him in his best position rather than move him from one place to the other. With some misgiving Watt was then chosen. He came off so well in the match that he now figures as one of the first-string possibilities and there seems little doubt that his experience will be valuable in the young back line which has been chosen for what could be a most difficult match. The All Blacks have made
10 changes from the team which triumphed at Twickenham. Deservedly enough, C. E. Meads is being rested after his labours. A. J. Stewart, who has been recalled to lock, a position so vital in British Rugby, has been suffering again from toothache but is expected to be fit. Improvement in the hooking of J. Major will be important to the All Blacks, while the play of K. A. Nelson and K. R. Tremain on the flanks will be watched with keen interest. The New Zealand Rugbyteam to play Cambridge University at Cambridge on Wednesday is:— D. B. Clarke; M. J. Dick. I. R. Macßae, R. W. Caulton; B. A. Watt, E. W. Kirton; K. C. Briscoe; B. J. Lochore; K. R. Tremain, A. J. Stewart, R. H. Horsley, K. A. Nelson; J. M. Le Lievre, J. Major, W. J. Whineray.
