BRITISH C.P. LEADERS
Campaigir For Removal (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 10. A campaign to overthrow the leadership of the British I Communist Party began at the week-end, "The Times’’ reported. The report said 2000 party workers all over Britain would tomorrow get by post a bitter five-page document critical of recent Soviet thinking. The document, the authors of which support the Chinese in the international quarrel, accuse the present local party leadership of having “abandoned the struggle for working-class power and socialism.” The "Daily Telegraph” said it was obvious the British party leaders would have to attempt strong disciplinary action if they were to quell the revolt. The paper said it was the most serious revolt since the mass of resignations which followed the Russian actions in Hungary. It was clear the 14 party members who signed the circular “must only be the very small exposed tip of an iceberg of discontent.” Trade Exchange.—West Germany and Hungary have agreed on an exchange of trade missions, the West German Foreign Office announced.—Bonn, Nov. 10. Chinese Charge.—A joint British-American-Indian air exercise which began on Saturday was a “rehearsal for an armed attack on China,” a commentator said in the “People's Daily” today.—Peking, Nov. 11.
