ST. ALBANS FAVOURED

Rain Will Give Club Lead The advantage gained by St. Albans over Sydenham on the first day of the third round of the senior cricket competition will give it a decisive lead if rain causes a cancellation of play today. St. Albans took a first innings lead over Sydenham and also gained the bonus point* whereas Riccarton, previously the co-leader with St. Albans, had not established a first innings lead over Lancaster Park. West-University and High School Old Boys are other teams with first innings and bonus points and both are assured of seven points irrespective of the weather. If there is no play today St. Albans will have a seven-point lead over Riccarton, and Lancaster Park and West ChristchurchUniversity will be in the third and fourth positions respectively.
