THE NATIONAL OPEN GRASS TRACK CHAMPION, P. R. Coleman, is shown crossing the finishing line to retain the title at the main event held at the Pioneer Motor Club’s jubilee celebrations at Queen Elizabeth II Park last Saturday. Coleman won the race of eight laps in a time of 6min 49.8 sec, an average speed of 69.25 m.p.h. One of the most interested spectators is Coleman’s father, Mr Percy Coleman, a former world grass track champion, who is shown (left) taking a cine film of his son’s race.
