CARDS FOR BRITAIN
Mails Close On Nov. 12
Christinas cards for Britain can be sent with mails on the vessel Port Napier, which is due to reach London on December 14, says the acting chief postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln). Mail for this vessel closes at 2 p.m. on November 12, and although second-class mail will be sent on the Port Napier there is no guarantee delivery will be made before Christmas Day. Mr Lincoln said that there was no 2jd rate tor overseas Christmas cards. Cards for British countries require 3d postage, whether sealed or unsealed. For foreign countries unsealed cards required 3d postage, but sealed cards carried a rate of 6d.
